According to Jennifer Mistry, police are ‘discouraging’ her in the sexual harassment case against Asit Modi: TMKOC

When she accused Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi of sexual harassment earlier this year, Jennifer Mistry startled everyone. The former Mrs. Roshan Sodhi has made further accusations while the matter is now under investigation. According to Jennifer, even police officers are ‘discouraging’ her in the case against Asit Modi, according to a recent interview.

“The cops are making me feel hopeless and moving extremely slowly. I am cheezo, and this is true. Jaha par justice ke liye battle kar rahi hu, waha ye sab ho raha hai, this made me extremely angry. I’ve also been in touch with higher ups about it,” she told Hindustan Times.

This comes after Jennifer previously accused Asit Modi of swaying Gurucharan Singh Sodhi, a crucial witness in her case. The actress questioned Modi’s motives and said that he paid off Gurucharan’s outstanding debts only after he agreed to testify in her case. In TMKOC, Gurucharan used to portray Jennifer’s husband.

“Gurucharan is fully knowledgeable. Additionally, I would like to provide some background information. In May 2023, Gurucharan personally phoned me and informed me that he would testify in my favor in court. He had expressly promised me he wouldn’t speak to the media, but he would be in court to support me, the woman told E-Times.

When I went to see him on June 9, he informed me that all of his unpaid debts from the previous three and a half years had been cleared when he was suddenly summoned to office on June 8. All of the unpaid balances that were stuck were cleared. I knew right away that he would not speak well of me. I didn’t tell him anything, but he said he could function as a middleman to get Asit Modi and I together for a discussion,” the actress said.

For the benefit of the uninitiated, Jennifer Mistry accused Asit Kumarr Modi, TMKOC Project Head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj of sexual harassment at work in May of this year. The three have been charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354 and 509 (Assault or criminal force to a lady with intent to insult her modesty).
