Before the movie’s release, Zoya Akhtar sends her best wishes to the cast of “The Archies”

The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, is about to hit theaters, and before it does, the director sent her best wishes to the actors, who are all making their acting debuts.

She shared a cast photo on Instagram in black and white, including Suhana Khan, Mihir Ahuja, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, and Aditi Dot.

With a ‘Archies’ billboard in the distance on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway, all of the actors were spotted together and grinning.

The post’s caption read: “Your first hoarding is over, kids. I hope there are a lot more. May you always be diligent and have a fresh perspective. I send you my best wishes.

After expressing gratitude to Zoya Akhtar for the chance, the performers received well wishes from actresses Mona Singh and Nitanshi Goel.

However, when the movie’s trailer debuted in 2022, internet users’ reactions have been consistent.

The film’s trailer, “The Archies,” attracted a lot of criticism and trolling since it was claimed that it only had a tenuous link with Indian viewers outside of the ultra-elite.

Nearly every actor in the movie is a member of a wealthy Bollywood family, including Khushi Kapoor, who is the daughter of Boney Kapoor, Suhana Khan, who is the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Agastya Nanda, who is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. As a result, people have accused the movie of being a prime example of nepotism in Bollywood.

According to the film’s creators, “Archies” is a vintage teen-comedy set in the 1960s that explores themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartache, and rebellion through the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton. It is based on the 1960 American comic book of the same name. Audiences will be transported to the made-up, mountainous town of Riverdale.

The Netflix original series “Archies” will debut on that platform on December 7, 2023.
