“Blast from the past,” says Tracee Ellis Ross as she posts old pictures of herself and her mother Diana Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross is remembering his past and going on a walk down memory lane. The 51-year-old blackish diva posted pictures from her 1991 Gap ad campaign with her mother Diana Ross on Instagram on Saturday. Famous photographer Herb Ritts captured the black-and-white pictures of the couple, which made them seem like twins. In the ad, the mother-son pair interlaced their bodies while gazing into the camera, both dressed simply in trousers and a white tank top.

Diana, 79, was around 47 years old at the time, as confirmed by Tracee’s Instagram post and the marketing statement shown in the first photograph, which states that she was a 19-year-old student. “Some of my old stuff be floating around,” the message said. I just spotted this small throwback photo,” Tracee said as the description for her photo. “19 year old me with bushy eyebrows in this @gap ad from 1991 with my mom shot by the one and only @herbritts.” “So gorgeous!” Reese Witherspoon, Tracee’s pal, remarked.
In 2022, Tracee spoke to InStyle on what it was like growing up with a music legend. “My mother was very much there,” she told the publication.
Getting us ready for school, having supper with us, and providing us with a sincere, stable, and authentic family and home life. My mother’s children were her first priority, not celebrity.” Although Tracee has a history in the music industry—her father is Robert Ellis Silberstein, manager of the music business—she first gained recognition as an actress and comedian.
