Case Study: Salman Khan Shooting: Two Arrested Gunmen Taken to Mumbai From Punjab

The two suspects, who were detained in Punjab in relation to the gunshot incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home, were transported to Mumbai on a transit remand, the police said on Friday. Mumbai Police said that the suspects were taken to the city on Thursday by the Crime Branch.

Officials from the prestigious National Investigation Agency (NIA) questioned Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta for many hours, they said on Friday.

The police custody of the two accused individuals detained in relation to the fire incident was extended by the Esplanade Court on Thursday until April 29.
Following the conclusion of their earlier remand on Thursday, when they were placed in the custody of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, they were presented before the metropolitan magistrate’s court here.

Previously, the Crime Branch said that they had found substantial evidence linking criminal Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi to the crime, designating them as the main conspirators and’most sought’.

The Bishnoi brothers are among the main defendants in the case against four persons that Mumbai Police filed against in relation to the shooting.
The Mumbai Crime Branch claims that the gunmen had already checked Salman’s home four times before the gunfire stopped. The Crime Branch said that they had also staked up Salman’s farmhouse and that, because the actor hadn’t been there in a few days, they intended to carry out the fire outside of his opulent Bandra Galaxy Apartments.

At the time of their arrest, the accused had many phones, according to authorities from the Mumbai Crime Branch, who also found a shattered phone from them.
The Crime Branch also said that they were investigating the other phones. They also reported that the second handgun, four magazines, and seventeen bullets had been found in the Tapi River in Surat.

As previously reported, the detectives discovered the handgun in the river on April 22 and the footprint of Vicky Gupta, one of the gunmen who was apprehended, as he fled from Mumbai to Bhuj in Gujarat. The gunmen threw the gun into the Tapi River close to Surat, according to the Crime Branch, as they fled.

The police said that they had transported money to the bank many times and that they were looking for more cell phones that they could have thrown into the river.
Around five in the morning on April 14, the two males arrived on a motorcycle, shot four bullets outside the Galaxy Apartments, and then they ran away. Both of the suspects were seen wearing headgear and carrying bags on CCTV video.

The two suspects were taken into custody by Kutch Police earlier, and they were sent over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. In relation to the firing incident, a municipal court later sent the two suspects to the Mumbai Crime Branch’s custody till April 25.
The case has been expanded to include the provisions under IPC 506(2) (threatening), 115 (abetment), and 201 (tampering with evidence). Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi have been listed as wanted suspects in connection with the crime, according to Mumbai Crime Branch police.

Anmol Bishnoi took credit for the fire outside Salman’s house in a post on Facebook after the incident.
