Did Raj Kundra sell his wife Shilpa Shetty a Rs 80 Cr Mumbai flat for Rs 38 Cr? Bizman’s “Tricks” for Avoiding ED Eyes

Raj Kundra, a businessman and the spouse of Shilpy Shetty, allegedly sold his Rs 80 crore Juhu apartment to the actor-wife in 2022 for Rs 38 crore after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) opened an investigation on him for possible money laundering.

According to sources cited in a Times of India story, the investigation agency thinks Kundra is still the true owner of the apartment and that the couple made an internal agreement to avoid having to deal with the property.

According to a news statement released by the ED on Thursday, the investigation concerns claims of defrauding investors by using digital currencies like Bitcoins.

The agency said that in exchange for Kundra “setting up a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine,” Amit Bhardwaj, the “mastermind” and promoter of the Gain Bitcoin Ponzi “scam,” gave her 285 bitcoins.

Among the businessman’s linked assets are equity shares registered in Kundra’s name, a house in Pune, and a residential unit in Juhu, Mumbai. According to the ED, these assets are valued at Rs 97.79 crore.

The couple’s attorney said that there isn’t a strong enough case against them and that they would assist the police.

“We have total confidence in the esteemed legal system. “We have faith in the fair investigation,” said counsel Prashant Patil in a statement. “We believe that when we make our fair representation before the honorable Enforcement Directorate, even the investigation agencies may grant justice to us.”

Raj Kundra sent a mysterious message on his Instagram stories one day after ED’s disclosures. Being kind is appropriate at some times. And there’s time to declare when enough is enough,” he said in his post along with a photo.
