During the filming of Dangal, Aamir Khan shares how he discovered the magic of “Namaste” in Punjab

Superstar of Bollywood Aamir Khan recently revealed touching stories from his storied acting career.
In the most recent installment of “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” the “perfectionist” reflected on his experiences filming the sports drama “Dangal” in Punjab and expressed his appreciation for the kindness and humility of the people there.

 

Aamir Khan spoke about his memories of his stay in Punjab and the incredible kindness he had from the people there while filming.”Something extraordinary happened when we filmed ‘Dangal’ in a small village for over two months,” he said. Every morning about five or six in the morning, the villagers were there to greet me and say, “Sat Sri Akaal,” with folded hands. They never stopped my vehicle or disturbed me. And they were there once again, greeting me “Good Night” outside their houses, as I departed after shooting.”

He said how the ritual of folding hands and uttering “namaste” as a symbol of respect impacted him greatly, even though he is a Muslim and is used to greeting people with the adaab gesture. Aamir Khan emphasized the welcoming and courteous aspects of Punjabi culture while characterizing this cultural interaction as a tremendous learning opportunity.
Aamir Khan shared his insights and showed how much he appreciated Punjabi people for their unshakable respect for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Starring Aamir Khan, the gestures that go beyond religious and cultural barriers, such as ‘namaste,’ are universal and powerful. He emphasized how crucial it is for different groups to appreciate and understand one another in order to promote peace and togetherness.
Regarding his career, Aamir Khan is working on the much anticipated “Sitaare Zameen Par.”
