Elvish Yadav, the winner of Big Boss OTT, “admits” to giving snake venom during rave events. Report

According to NDTV, Big Boss OTT winner and YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who was detained on Sunday in connection with a snake venom case, has acknowledged planning and providing snakes and snake venom for rave events.

Known for his contentious presence on social media, Elvish Yadav admitted under oath that he knew the second accused person detained for distributing snake venom the previous year, according to the NDTV story.

He then revealed that he had met the accused at many rave parties and admitted to keeping in touch with them, even though at first he denied any role in the snake venom controversy.

Yadav was taken before a special court in Surajpur after being apprehended by Noida police on Sunday. The judge ordered him to 14 days of judicial detention. He was one of six people included in a police report (FIR) that was submitted on November 3, 2018, at the Sector 49 police station in Noida. The five other suspects, who were described as snake charmers, were taken into custody in November, but as of right now, authorities say they are out on bond.

Along with sections 120B (relating to criminal conspiracy), 284 (concerning negligent conduct related to poison endangering human safety), and 289 (relating to negligent conduct with respect to animals), a case has been registered under the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Yadav, a resident of Gurugram, Haryana, was arrested after charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were added to the case, according to police authorities, as reported by PTI.

Additionally, it has come to light that samples discovered by Noida police during the inquiry were identified as “snake venom” by a forensic laboratory.

Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra told PTI, “The accused has been arrested by a team of Sector 20 police station which was investigating the case.” He said that the case was moved from Sector 49 police station to Sector 20 police station throughout the investigation.

Yadav was then sent to the Luksar prison in Greater Noida, according to police records.

Shortly after the FIR was filed, a sub-inspector who was also in charge of the Sector 49 police station, where the complaint was submitted, was transferred due to a complaint from a representative of the animal rights organization People For Animals (PFA).

On November 3, five people were taken into custody from a banquet facility located in Sector 51. Along with removing nine snakes—five of which were cobras—from their custody, authorities also seized 20 milliliters of possible snake venom.

Yadav was not in the party venue, but police were still looking into his possible role in the case of recreational use of snake venom.Maneka Gandhi, the head of the PFA and BJP, accused Yadav of selling snake venom illegally and called for his quick arrest.

Travelling with pals in a vehicle on November 4, Yadav was temporarily arrested by police in Kota, Rajasthan, for interrogation; however, he was quickly freed.
