Exclusive: Aayush Sharma declares, “Love me or hate me, but don’t ignore me,” calling himself a “nepo kid by association.”

With the release of Loveyatri in 2018, Aayush Sharma began his Bollywood career, and he has since developed as an actor every year. In every capacity that he has taken on, he has shown his commitment and hard work. But, as they say, trolls will always be trolls.

Even though Aayush is a newcomer to the profession, he often receives negative feedback and is called a nepotistic child only because Salman Khan’s sister is his wife. In a special interview with Pinkvilla, Aayush spoke about how he deals with the criticism he gets for being considered a nepotist.

The topic of Aayush Sharma’s outsider position in the business and his marriage to Salman Khan’s sister Arpita—which has led to him being accused of nepotism—came up in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. Sharma made light of the situation and called himself a “nepo kid by association.”

He offered his opinion in response to a question on how he handles the stigma attached to this tag, adding, “I think you just develop immunity towards it.” There are folks you know somewhere down the line, I think—there’s always a cognitive process. Imagine for a moment how stupid this mind process is: maybe Pinkvilla has one of my pictures, which is receiving between 50 and 200 bad comments—possibly even 300—but you turn it into a like. There are now 7000 likes. What do I concentrate on now? Should I pay more attention to the 200–300 nasty comments I get or the compliments I’ve received?”

It depends on your point of view, he said. You peruse it as you glance down. Sometimes you come across annoying thinking patterns, or you realize that some people are like it, even if they may not be saying anything positive about you. In any case, they went on. Therefore, I think that no matter how I’m thinking, whether it’s positive or negative, I always want to lighten my own mood by stating, “Love me, you hate me, but please don’t ignore me.”

Following Loveyatri, Aayush starred with Mahima Makwana and Salman Khan in Antim: The Final Truth. Additionally, the actor has been featured in many music videos, including Tera Hoke Nachda Phira, Pehli Pehli Barish, Majha, and Chumma Chumma. Ruslaan, his next project, will be available on April 26.
