Exclusive – Shubhangi Atre: Taking breaks becomes even more crucial in my area of work, where I often put in 10 to 15 hours a day and sometimes work nonstop

It is becoming more difficult to take a vacation these days, according to actress Shubhangi Atre of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain fame. According to her, timetables are often quite rigid and don’t provide room for personal time.

We don’t always have time for lengthy summer vacations, or even brief ones, in my opinion. There are moments when it seems like we hardly have time to catch our breath because life has become so fast.We often have busy schedules, which makes it difficult to take time off even for ourselves. Now, extended summer vacations seem like a relic from my past. My grandma used to let me stay with her for two months of summer vacation when I was a child. My grandma used to prepare wonderful dinners for us, and we would have so much fun. I never wanted to go back home when it came time to depart. She explains, “I always looked forward to going back to my grandmother’s place for the following summer vacation.

“A lot of us are reluctant to take long leaves, whether it’s for marriages, pregnancies, or sicknesses,” she continues. People in many professions experience this pressure; it’s not only performers. Even pregnant women, I’ve seen, often work until their eighth month of pregnancy. In my opinion, it’s critical that individuals take a moment to unwind and give themselves some alone time, particularly during trying times. Even while life continues to move at its own speed, finding time for oneself is crucial to avoiding stress in this hectic environment.

According to her, taking a break is essential for self-rejuvenation. “I think it’s very essential to take a vacation for two to three days in order to cleanse and regenerate from the worries and stress of every day life. I won’t become stress-free overnight, but taking a vacation does provide some mental clarity for those few days. In my profession, where I often work 10- to 15-hour days and even nonstop, taking breaks becomes even more crucial. Therefore, I think it’s important to take time off, no matter what kind of work I do,” she adds.

She continues, “In our profession, we need to be available on our phones, even during breaks, since anything can come up at any time. So, on these breaks, be away from technology.” I do agree, however, that breaks need to include time away from cellphones. We seem to be constantly connected to our phones, therefore I’m really making an effort to use my phone less in my everyday life. Like anything else, there are advantages and disadvantages to mobile phones. Although we come across both good and negative stuff, it’s crucial to cut down on phone use sometimes to preserve mental clarity and positivity.
