Ishan Mishra, a ‘Mumbaikar’ actor, on playing a journalist in ‘Ajmer 92’: It Assisted Me In Pushing My Creative Limits

Ishan Mishra, an actor who most recently appeared in the movie “Mumbaikar” with Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey, and others, as well as other films like “Janhit Mein Jari,” “Laakhon Mein Ek 2,” and “It’s Not That Simple 2,” is slated to portray a journalist in the upcoming drama “Ajmer 92.”

The film, which was directed by Pushpendra Singh, tells the shocking tale of over 250 girls who were sexually assaulted and blackmailed in the Rajasthani town.

Recently, the actor was open about his part, his time working on the movie, and its unique selling point. Ishan said, “I take up the difficult and thrilling position of a Journalist in Ajmer 92. I go into the depths of intricate tales as an intrepid truth-seeker, revealing hidden truths and bringing light on significant topics. I was able to show off my variety and stretch my creative limits thanks to this job. The character’s experience held a lot of interest and served as a powerful motivator. Because the movie highlights significant societal concerns, there is also a social influence.

When discussing his preparation for the role, he said, “Research, practice, and emotional discovery were all used in the process. I worked closely with the director throughout the rehearsal process, discussing character interpretations and implementing his vision into my performance. The dialect work was truly intriguing. The movie has to adopt the dialect and accent of Rajasthan since it is set there. One of my friends who is from that region and we had extensive conversations about the language truly helped me learn it.

Speaking on the movie’s topic, he said, “The movie is based on actual events that occurred back in 1992. The film tells the tales of those times, and the trailer makes clear that hundreds of girls were raped and subjected to blackmail. It is concentrated on societal themes that are often applicable to difficulties and challenges in the actual world. It addresses societal topics that are relevant to modern culture and appeals to a broad audience. The movie makes viewers more socially aware by bringing attention to situations that have gone unnoticed.

He remarked of his experience working on the movie, “The film boasts an ensemble with several excellent performers. The chemistry between members of an ensemble cast may improve the realism of the interactions shown on film. It promoted creativity and friendship among the cast and crew by creating a good environment on site.

The movie “Ajmer 92” will debut on July 21, 2023.
