Kamal Haasan predicts “good news” shortly and is expected to form an alliance with the DMK for the Lok Sabha elections

Actor Kamal Hassan, the president of Makkal Needhi Maiam, said on Monday that an alliance announcement will be made in the next two days, ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections.

Regarding the parliamentary election preparations, the MNM chairman told reporters at the Chennai airport that he expected a “good opportunity” and that the election work was proceeding well.

“I will meet with you with wonderful news in two days. The parliamentary election preparations are proceeding well, and we anticipate a favorable outcome. In regards to the collaboration, the decision will be made public in two days,” said Kamal Hassan.

After finishing preparations for his forthcoming film “Thug Life” in the US, Kamal Hassan arrived at Chennai Aiport early on Monday morning.
Prior to the legislative elections in September of last year, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the leader of the DMK and a minister for Tamil Nadu, made hints about his party’s potential alliance with Hassan’s MNM.

“The party leaders will decide on the alliance (with Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam party) at the time of the elections,” Udhayanidhi Stalin had said.

Furthermore, amid the ‘Sanatana Dharma’ dispute, Kamal Hassan defended Udhayanidhi Stalin by claiming that the latter was being persecuted because the young man said Sanatana.
Hassan founded MNM in 2018, however he lost the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2021 and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Later, during the Erode by-elections, MNM lent support to the Secular Progressive Alliance candidate, who was headed by the DMK.
Hassan was also seen traveling with Congressman Rahul Gandhi when the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra arrived in Tamil Nadu earlier in December 2022.
