‘Kenda’ by Sahadev Kelvadi receives a distinguished selection at DPIFF

The highly anticipated picture “Kenda,” directed by former cinematographer Sahadev Kelvadi, is already making waves at the esteemed Dada Saheb Phalke Picture Festival before to its June release in theaters. On April 30, the movie will be shown in Mumbai as part of the festival.

 

The protagonist of Sahadev Kelvadi’s absurdist political satire “Kenda” is a young guy who works at a foundry in Bengaluru, a busy metropolis. It explores a number of societal issues, including as politics and criminality, as well as how the protagonist—a laborer—becomes enmeshed in the intricate web of the system and how his life unfolds. Under the auspices of Ameyukti Studios, it is produced by Roopa Rao of “Gantumoote” renown in association with rookie director Sahadev.

Notably, Ritwik Kaikini, the son of well-known poet Jayanth Kaikini, will make his musical composition debut with “Kenda.” The majority of the actors of the movie, which includes Bharath BV, Vinod Ravindran, and Pranav Sridhar, are newbies. Shreyank Nanjappa, who gained recognition for his work on the Oscar-winning documentary “Elephant Whisperers,” has contributed to the pool of talent by serving as the sound designer for the film “Kenda.”
