“I had spent a considerable amount of time developing the script for ‘Purana Furniture,'” the director of ‘Vaastav,’ said to ETimes. We sent the screenplay to Naseeruddin Shah, who starred in the movie, as soon as it was finished. After reading the screenplay, Shah was rather pleased. Unfortunately, we were unable to go further with the project because of a lack of finance.”

He went on, “After that, we made the decision to distribute it as ‘Juna Furniture’ in Marathi. My wife Medha Manjrekar and I are in the movie as the main actors. The film centers on a loving father who battles for his wife’s justice, bringing attention to the predicament of elderly parents who are ignored in a culture that is obsessed with worldly possessions.”
