Meba Ofilia Says Her ‘Dream Come True’ at Lollapalooza India 2024: ‘I Manifested It’ | Exclusive

Recently, singer Meba Ofilia made her debut at Lollapalooza India. The rapper from Meghalaya, who is also one of this year’s BUDX Uncovered performers, had a performance on the first day of the music festival. In an interview with News18 Showsha after her performance, Meba expressed her belief that she had manifested her Lollapalooza India debut. “It is an honor to perform at Lollapalooza India 2024. I was dreaming I would get to play at Lollapalooza ever since the first edition arrived to India, and I suppose I materialized it!” she exclaimed.

It’s incredible that I get to play on the BudX stage, which hosts performances by some of the best musical performers, like the Jonas Brothers, Anoushka Shankar, and Sting. Meba continued. Regarding her partnership with BudX Uncovered, Meba conveyed her appreciation to Budweiser for identifying artists and providing them with a stage at events like Lollapalooza India.

“My team received a call from Budweiser asking me to participate in Lollapalooza India 2024’s ‘BudX Uncovered’ performance. I found the idea intriguing, and after learning that the effort aims to provide performers like myself a platform to perform on throughout the world, I was unable to refuse! I’m grateful that Budweiser has acknowledged the importance of giving artists a platform to showcase their skill and passion for what they do. Furthermore, I was drawn to the campaign because I identified with the brand and we both have a dedication to pushing creative limits, the spokesperson said.

“When we finally closed things down with Budweiser, I was ecstatic! For Lollapalooza India 2024, Meba revealed that she was eager to present the songs she was working on and the set she and her band had been practicing over the last several months.

Meba’s path into music was comparable to Ved’s in Tamasha. The vocalist didn’t go into music right away; she was training to become a lawyer. Meba expressed her happiness that people might find parallels between her music career and the lives of other celebrities while discussing the similarity. As humans, I suppose we all have a similar experience when it comes to pursuing our passions and hearts. The motivation for my action stemmed from my win of the MTV EMAs for Best India Act. From then, no matter how challenging or unclear the trip, there was no going back. Although I am aware that nothing in life is certain, there are moments when I do feel as if the road I choose has to pay off.

When Meba reflected on her path from dropping out of law school to taking the stage at Lollapalooza India, she remarked that “trying to stay consistent with music” had been the hardest thing she had ever done in her career. “Always trying to find motivation. When it begins to seem like a chore, that is a bummer. There will always be ebbs and flows to whatever path one takes, and I have to continuously remind myself of that,” the woman said.

Meba has always had the duty of representing Meghalaya and the Northeastern states at national and international events, even though the music performance has helped her open new doors. Meba said, “I really do feel the pressure from time to time with the way I carry myself and my music,” when asked whether she felt the weight of the job. To be honest, it can become overwhelming. That being said, I take advantage of any chance I have and learn how to deal with social demands at the same time.

Finally, Meba said that she is bringing about a unique partnership with British singer-songwriter Joy Crookes. “(I intend to work with Joy Crookes). As she said, “I am not even hesitant about it!”
