Michael Gambon’s private life:

Gambon married mathematician Anne Miller in 1962 while he was just 22 years old. He was renowned for fiercely protecting his privacy and would often rebuff questions about his marriage with a joking, “What wife?” Fergus, the son of the couple who settled in Gravesend, Kent, would go on to become a ceramics specialist featured on the BBC programme “Antiques Roadshow.”

But when he declared Philippa Hart, a lady 25 years his younger, as his girlfriend when “Gosford Park” was being filmed in 2001, his personal life took a new course. Gambon left his married home after their affair, which was made public in 2002.

The relationship between Gambon and Hart had started in 2000 when they worked together on the Channel 4 programme “Longitude.” Gambon’s kid was due in February 2007, and Philippa Hart eventually gave birth to their boy. Gambon’s third kid was born in 2009, beginning a new chapter in his personal life.
