Performing her own stunts in Crakk, Amy Jackson looks forward to Andreas, her son, seeing “mom do action on screen” | Exclusive

The British actress Amy Jackson was a familiar face in Bollywood and southern Indian film until her extended maternity leave was caused by Covid-19. After a long absence, the actress is making a comeback in the action thriller Crakk, starring Arjun Rampal and Vidyut Jammwal. Amy speaks with DNA exclusively about her return and doing her own stunts.

Rather of portraying a helpless romantic partner, Amy portrays a combative Polish Europol agent in Crakk. She laughs and explains, “I had to step it up to keep up with Vidyut. He’s the inspiration behind Crakk.” As part of my study, I watched his Commando movies to get a sense of the vibe on the set. Fortunately, I do often include boxing and muay thai in my training routine. Since I gave birth to my darling child in 2019, I have done that. I also keep a careful eye on the sport. I believe that my interest in martial arts will help me portray it effectively on television.

Not only that, but Amy did all of the action and stunts in Crakk herself. “It’s all me. “No stunt double was used,” she beams, adding, “I’m quite proud of that. Over the last five years, unbeknownst, training has been taking place in the background, and this has helped. I dubbed for myself as well as it enhances the persona.

After almost eight years, Amy will make her Hindi cinema debut with Crakk. Her most recent language release was Freaky Ali in 2016. She then starred in Rajinikanth’s Tamil hit movie 2.0 before pausing acting for five years. She made a comeback last month with the Tamil movie Mission, and this time she’s back with Crakk. “We have had a lot of scripts come in and lots of narrations over the past 18 months,” she explains when discussing the factors that led her to choose these two titles for her return. I answered yes to both of these movies. Because of the break brought on by Covid and having my little baby, it was something of a return. The very powerful female characters in these two made me fall deeply in love. The character herself contradicts the clichés of women that have been prevalent in movies for the previous 20 to 30 years globally, even if the movie is not focused on women.

Crakk is particularly significant to Amy since it marks her entry into the Bollywood action genre, which her four-year-old son Andreas adores. “I am laughing thinking about it,” Amy adds in reference to his response to the movie. I am excitedly anticipating it. He really accompanied me to the Mission settings. He was seated in the director’s chair on the set during Diwali. For him, it was an amazing experience as it took me 17 years to end up on a movie set, and now he was experiencing this world. He seemed pleased with what I accomplished on Mission, so I am eager to see what he has to say. Mummy gained a lot of brownie points for that.

On February 23, Crakk, which also stars Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal, and Nora Fatehi, will be released in theaters. Aditya Datt is the director of the picture, which is categorized as an extreme sports film.
