“Playing Iron Man is ‘part of my DNA,'” says Robert Downey Jr., hinting at a potential MCU comeback

It looks like Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
In a recent interview, the Oscar winner gave a clue about his rumored comeback as Iron Man. When speaking with Esquire, RDJ doesn’t seem to be ruling out the possibility of playing his well-known persona again.

Robert revealed during the talk that he would “happily” make a comeback to the MCU, stating, “It’s too integral a part of my DNA.”I was chosen for that role.

And as you can see, I always advise against betting against Kevin Feige. It’s a losing wager. The house is his. He’ll triumph every time.”
But over time, Downey’s feelings about his comeback appear to have evolved. He mentionedmoving on’ from the post just a few months ago. He also said that he no longer felt that playing Tony Stark was as exciting. He thought, “I will never be as cool as Tony Stark, but it was so great to be associated with someone like that for a while, and then it wore off.” Still, Downey may have had a change of heart based on his previous remarks.
‘Iron Man’ (2008) marked the beginning of Robert’s legendary role in the MCU, while ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019) marked the series’ conclusion. His character met a horrible end in the movie, which was his final official appearance as the superhero, while facing the insane Titan, Thanos. Ever since the MCU has entered the Multiverse Saga and various actors have returned as their iconic characters, fans have been waiting impatiently for any hint of his potential comeback to the superhero genre. Many stars, including Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Garner, will reprise their iconic roles as Wolverine and Electra in the upcoming Deadpool movie.
After leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Downey Jr. pursued a variety of film roles, including “Oppenheimer,” directed by Christopher Nolan, for which he won his first Academy Award for playing Lewis Strauss.
