Raman Raghav 2.0, According to Vicky Kaushal, was his worst performance

Vicky Kaushal, an actor, recently thought back on what he felt was his weakest performance to date and outlined the reasons he feels it fell short. It was in Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0, he said. Notable performers like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sobhita Dhulipala were present in this crime-thriller.

“Raman Raghav 2.0 was a very dark and twisted tale about a cop and a serial killer,” Vicky said at an event. To be completely honest, I still think it was my worst performance to date because, at the time, I didn’t feel like I had enough life experience to really inhabit the role. Every five years of my life, I believe I will play that one part differently and more effectively. As I was portraying a 25-year-old role, there was a little understanding gap because I was raised in a safe environment, which is not how my character’s life was.

Vicky had portrayed himself as a dedicated performer during the same talk. He clarified that while famous actors were being introduced at the time, he lacked confidence in his ability to pursue his dream of being an actor after graduation. He said that when his movie Masaan was released, the mood was different.

He went on to say that he has always been an obstinate performer. “I want to be an actor,” I would repeat, even more confidently, when I would get glances from top to bottom during auditions when I said that I wanted the part. This is what I mean when I say that I am a stubborn actor. That obstinacy gave me courage. Do it because you love it, I kept telling myself, and things would get better. And yet, things did alter,” he said.

Vicky’s role in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur will be as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
