Re-release of “Ghilli” box office receipts: Among other re-releases, Vijay’s movie is now the highest-grossing Indian film

The 2004 film “Gilli,” which was directed by Dharani and starred Vijay in the title role, was a Tamil adaptation of the Telugu movie “Okkadu.”

‘Ghilli’ became a huge smash, surpassing the first 50-crore Kollywood grosser and outperforming the original. A week ago, the upgraded 4K version of “Ghilli” debuted in theaters all around the world. Today, April 27, marks the start of the movie’s second week of distribution.’Ghilli’ has made about Rs 21 crore in its first seven days of release, according to Cinetrak, marking another significant milestone for the movie. ‘Ghilli’ became the first Indian film to break the 20-crore barrier on its re-release.

Since its re-release, “Ghilli” has been shown in over 1000 theaters globally, and as it enters its second week, the majority of these screens are still filled. The movie has been a huge hit with viewers all around the world, and social media has been filled with footage of fans celebrating the movie’s success in theaters. ‘Ghilli’ has allegedly made almost Rs 15 crore in Tamil Nadu alone, and the film’s producers have proclaimed it to be very lucrative.

Vijay, Trisha, and Prakash Raj got together for the first time with “Ghilli,” and the three of them went on to become a popular team. The film’s greatest asset is its lively background soundtrack and chart-topping songs, both of which Vidyasagar composed.
