SIIMA 2023: R Madhavan Makes His First Appearance Since Being Appointed FTII Head, To Loud Applause

R Madhavan was one of the major names in attendance on Saturday night, which was day 2 of SIIMA 2023. The actor, who made the transition from stage to screen with Rocketry last year, attended the illustrious event. He made his first public appearance at the event after being named the FTII Society’s President and Chairman of the Governing Council. For the evening, the actor wore just black clothing.

A paparazzo recorded Madhavan entering the SIIMA 2023 awards presentation venue as the throng gathered around the red carpet started applauding for him. Some people could even be heard shouting “Maddy, Maddy.” Before going inside, the actor posed for the photographers.

Two prizes were given to Madhavan during the ceremony. The actor’s movie, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, won the Best Debut Director award. For the same movie, he was also awarded Best Actor in a Leading Role.

It was announced earlier this month that Madhavan would lead FTII. Anurag Thakur, a union minister, announced the news on platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
