The following describes how Amandeep, Kamaldeep, and Jaiman, the children of Amar Singh Chamkila, continue their father’s musical tradition

The life and legacy of the late Punjabi musician Amar Singh Chamkila have received more attention as a result of the recent release of a movie about him.

The film, which stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, tells the story of Chamkila’s ascent to popularity, his innovative music, and the terrible end he met with Amarjot, his second wife. However, Chamkila’s offspring have carried on his legacy in different ways, even after the movie ended.

Amandeep Kaur and Kamaldeep Kaur are Chamkila’s two children from her first marriage to Gurmail Kaur in the 1970s. Amandeep made the decision to lead a modest life away from the limelight. Following the loss of her father, she had to take on the role of caring for her mother, which made her childhood difficult.
Similar to his father, Jaiman Singh Chamkila opted for a career in music. He is presently a live performer and recording artist for singer-songwriters based in Jamalpur, Ludhiana, Punjab.
In contrast, Kamaldeep Kaur followed her passion for music and went on to become well-known as Kamal Chamkila. She made her debut in the song “Lalkara” with Punjabi artist Raj Brar, who is now residing in Canada.
Jaiman Singh Chamkila and an unidentified kid were the offspring of Chamkila’s second marriage, to Amarjot, which he entered into in the 1980s. Sadly, the couple’s second child, who was just 15 days old, died soon after its parents were assassinated.
Imtiaz Ali’s biography, Amar Singh Chamkila, explores the life of the well-known singer, giving viewers an insight into his musical career and personal journey. The movie honours Chamkila’s distinctive contributions to Punjabi music and culture, even as his legacy endures in the decisions and lives of his offspring.
