The second season of Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy anime casts Yoshitsugu Matsuoka

Exciting new information on the second season of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, the television anime adaptation of Kei Azumi’s “alternate-world social reform fantasy” book series, has surfaced on the official website. Renowned voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will play the role of Root, a high-ranking dragon with sought-after “golden magic” similar to that of the goddess.

Known for its complex world-building and engrossing story, the animation originally debuted on Tokyo MX and BS NTV on January 8 at 11:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EST), attracting viewers. On January 9, MBS followed suit, creating waves with its own interpretation of an “alternate-world social reform fantasy.” Renowned for his work directing hit shows like Super Lovers, Log Horizon, and Fairy Tail, Shinji Ishihara returns to oversee the second season, guaranteeing a smooth continuation of the epic story that has attracted a devoted fan base.
Director Shinji Ishihara, who has directed shows including Super Lovers, Log Horizon, and Fairy Tail, is back to handle the second season. Again in command will be Kenta Ihara, the mastermind behind popular series like Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered Yet Overly Cautious and The Saga of Tanya the Evil. Yukie Suzuki, best known for her work on Fight League: Gear Gadget Generators, will design the characters, while Yasuharu Takanashi, well known for his work on Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, and Super Lovers, will write the soundtrack.
A new opening song called “Reversal,” sung by Syudou, will be included in the second season’s second course (a quarter of a year). This goes well with the opening theme that is now playing, “Utopia,” which is expertly performed by returning vocalist Keina Suda.
Viewers of the show will remember that the first season, which included 12 episodes, debuted in July of 2021. Crunchyroll’s ability to broadcast both the Japanese original and an English dub of the anime was crucial to its ability to reach a worldwide audience. Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy was noteworthy since it was the first production for NTV’s Anime Department, which further cemented its standing in the anime industry.
The story of Tsukimichi, also known as Moonlit Fantasy, started in 2012 when Azumi published the book on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. The books are published in print by AlphaPolis and include pictures by Mitsuaki Matsumoto. There are now 1.4 million copies of the novels in circulation. Furthermore, Kotora Kino began serializing the manga adaptation in 2016, which added even more depth to the expansive world of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy.
