Celebrated as one of the most iconic performers of the 1990s, Govinda hasn’t been on film in almost five years. In the 2019 movie Rangeela Raja, he made his last appearance.
Longtime partner Anees Bazmee, who wrote the screenplays for Govinda’s classic movies like Aankhen, Shola Aur Shabnam, Deewana Mastana, and Raja Babu, recently voiced the opinion of many filmmakers who are excited to work with Govinda again.
Govinda is the finest comedian and an amazing actor, according to Anees Bazmee, who made this claim in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Bazmee spoke on how well they worked together on a number of popular movies, like Deewana Mastana, Shola Aur Shabnam, and Aankhen.
He praised Govinda’s performance in Raja Babu in particular, highlighting his unparalleled comedic timing and charm. Bazmee said that, in his opinion, Govinda is a superb actor.
When asked what’s preventing Govinda from making his much awaited return, Bazmee said, “It’s not just me; a lot of people want to collaborate with him. And I’ll be pleased to contact Govinda ji when I get the chance to do so and decide that, yes, this is the specific movie and character that he should play. Because of our long-standing relationship, I am certain that if anything is written just for him, it will be fantastic. He will really enhance that persona.”
Anees Bazmee is presently developing the third installment of the wildly popular horror comedy series Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Kartik Aaryan plays the protagonist in the movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, while Vidya Balan makes a comeback as the original Manjulika. Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri will also play important parts in the movie.
Anees will also shortly begin work on the much anticipated No Entry sequel. Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh have signed on to play the main parts in No Entry 2, and Pinkvilla was the first to report that the movie would begin production in December 2024 with a 2025 release window.
