With Ryan Gostling in the lead role, director David Leitch pays tribute to his background as a stuntman in The Fall Guy

David Leitch, a director and former stunt coordinator, is returning with another highly anticipated movie. Complete with wild acrobatics, action, and a heart-stopping romance starring the Barbenheimer pair of Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. Director David Leitch is getting ready to premiere his highly anticipated big-screen film,

on May 3rd in theaters. The movie opens with Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt) directing for the first time with Ryan Gosling’s character, Colt Seavers, an accomplished stuntman and former love.Along with villains, intrigue, and death-defying feats,

“My career is built on 20 years of being a stunt performer, taking hits, riding wires, crashing cars, being set on fire and working closely with every department in the industry,” Leitch says in reference to the movie and how he keeps connected to his beginnings.

“My passion for filmmaking sustained me.” Years of working with different departments gave me an insider’s understanding of the film production model. I would still be overjoyed to return to my previous role as stunt coordinator if you asked me to quit directing films. There’s nowhere I’d rather be than creating art with my pals on a movie set.

“This project holds a special place in my heart because it weaves in real-life anecdotes from my journey as a stunt performer and a part of the crew,” Leitch adds, paying respect to his history as a stuntman.
