With Sunil Grover portraying Jaya Bachchan in the K3G scene, Shah Rukh Khan leaves the audience stunned
There will be a lot of laughs when Shah Rukh Khan and Sunil Grover perform together on stage. In the most recent Zee Cine Awards 2024 trailer, the pair offers us a peek into their hilarious antics, which had everyone in stitches. With Sunil looking amazing in a saree, they give the well-known Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham sequence a modern spin in this clip! The video is already going viral on the internet, and it’s pure comedic gold with a Bollywood twist.
Similar to Jaya Bachchan, Sunil Grover plays the superstar’s greeter in the skit, carrying an aarti thali in his palm. Shah Rukh quickly realizes that something is wrong as he stoops to touch his foot and imitates Jaya’s motion. “Mummy, why are you wearing Babuji’s shoes?” he queries. “Dhyaan se dekho beta, main babuji hee hu,” replies Sunil with a grin, before mimicking Amitabh Bachchan and saying, “Everybody shava-shava.”
Then, still dressed in sarees, Shah Rukh Khan and Sunil Grover begin dancing to the song’s signature motions, while actors Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurrana can be seen giggling uncontrollably in the background. The awards were being hosted by the brothers Khurrana as well.
Shah Rukh and comic king Sunil Grover reenacted the Om Shanti Om sequence, in which he exclaimed, “Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai.” He performed a sequence from his popular movie Mohabbatein as well.
In the meantime, Sunil Grover, who rose to fame on The Kapil Sharma Show for his portrayals of the well-known fictitious characters Gutthi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati, will soon return to the original cast on the over-the-top streaming service Netflix.
