Adding millets to your diet: A PGI nutritionist explains

The PGIMER’s Department of Dietetics is hosting the 6th National Nutrition Conference, which started today in honor of World Health Day. The conference’s topic is “Functional Nutrition: Its Role in Clinical Practice.”

Chief dietician Dr. Nancy Sahni wrote a book called “Unlocking Millets’ Journey from Grain to Medicine,” which was published. “Dr. Nancy’s book offers a comprehensive guide to leveraging millets’ potential for wellness, disease prevention, and management,” said Prof. Naresh Panda, the keynote guest.

According to Dr. Nancy, the book promoted the use of appropriate processing procedures to improve the minerals found in millets’ digestibility and bioavailability. It also provided doable and comprehensible ways to get the most nutritious value out of these ancient grains.
