Budget 2024: Government will promote girls’ cervical cancer immunization

On Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will support girls between the ages of 9 and 14 receiving vaccinations to prevent cervical cancer.

“To prevent cervical cancer, our government will promote vaccination among girls between the ages of 9 and 14 years.” She made these announcements while introducing the interim budget 2024 to the Lok Sabha: “Various schemes for maternal child care will be brought under one comprehensive program for synergy in implementation, upgrades of anganwadi centers under Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 will be expedited for improved nutrition delivery, early childhood care and development.”

Many young people have aspirations of becoming trained physicians. Our government intends to use the current hospital infrastructure under several ministries to establish new medical schools. For this reason, a committee will be formed to look into the problems and provide pertinent suggestions,” Sitharaman said.
