According to Donald Trump, the investigation into sensitive papers has implicated him

Donald Trump, a former US president, said on Thursday that he had been charged as part of a federal investigation into how he handled secret information after leaving office.

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my solicitors that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax,” Trump said on his platform Truth Social as he revealed what would be shocking news that he has been charged criminally for the second time.

The Justice Department did not immediately confirm the report.

Trump, who is running for president once again, said in his tweet that he was called to a federal courtroom in Miami on Tuesday.

He wrote, “I never imagined that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States.

The former president’s attorneys were alerted by federal prosecutors that he is the subject of the investigation into his handling of secret papers, according to US media reports the day before Trump’s statement.

In his case, hush money payments made on election night to a porn actress who claimed she had an affair with him, he was already the first former or incumbent president to be charged with a crime. Indictment was issued in March.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s choice for special counsel, Jack Smith, has been investigating a collection of secret papers that Trump kept at his Mar-a-Lago home after leaving the White House.

After executing a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago in August, the FBI removed over 11,000 documents, and after months of rebuffing attempts to retrieve the cache, Trump may be charged with obstructing justice.

Trump has a history of denying wrongdoing.

He could also face charges in connection with his attempts to have the Georgia 2020 election results annulled and his participation in the 2021 Capitol mob incident.
