According to the outgoing envoy to the US, Sandhu, “India Stands Tall” as a Beacon of Peace, Prosperity, and Innovation

According to the departing US Ambassador to India, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the nation of over a billion people has shown to the world that science and spirituality can coexist and that India stands tall as a symbol of peace, innovation, and prosperity.

In his speech to local leaders and embassy representatives on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, India’s ambassador to the US, Sandhu, said, “Today, India stands tall as a marker of peace, stability, innovation, and prosperity.” The Republic Day festivities and the raising of the national flag were held on Friday at the Indian diplomatic in downtown Washington, DC, with the participation of several leaders from the Indian-American community as well as diplomatic representatives.

“India has shown to the world that there may be convergences between science and spirituality, between the old and the contemporary, between unity and diversity, between the physical and the digital, and between bilateral friendships and plural-lateral bonds. He remarked, “We are special; Bharati-yatra assures synergy and convergence.” “When we reflect on the past 75 years of our country’s journey, we are proud of our accomplishments and are equally motivated to continue making progress. Our children give us greater confidence and hope to go higher; we have lived the dream of our forebears,” PTI cited him as adding.

G20 PRESIDENCY
“The launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance, reflecting our commitment to green growth, our G20 presidency, where we brought diverse opinions together and generated consensus; and our commitment to being a voice for the global south, reflected in the Summit as well as in the inclusion of Africa in the G20,” he said. “India reaching the moon—our Chandrayaan.” “On a bilateral level, President Joe Biden’s visit to India in September; the launch of iCET, taking our tech partnership to the next level; and Prime Minister Modi’s historic state visit to the US in June of last year—the ceremonial & substantive aspects were clearly visible,” he added.

In every facet of human endeavor, including commerce, technology, semiconductors, healthcare, energy, and people-to-people interactions, the two nations are closely collaborating. Our participation in several international forums, including the G20, Quad, I2U2, and many more, shows that our alliance benefits not only the people of our two nations but also the whole globe, according to Sandhu.

Sandhu Retirement
The speech was given by the 61-year-old Indian ambassador, who will this month retire from the foreign service after 35 years of diplomatic service. One of the main designers of the thriving India-US relationship has been Sandhu. Speaking last week at a goodbye luncheon for the departing Indian ambassador, US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF) president and CEO Mukesh Aghi noted that Sandhu’s list of accomplishments is still extensive and remarkable.

Aghi said that when Ambassador Sandhu assumed office in Washington in February 2020, dire times were going to turn around economies and halt everyday life, and that a devastating epidemic would present new difficulties for even an experienced diplomat. In addition to assisting Indian students in returning home, Sandhu oversaw the resolution of visa backlogs for the diaspora, and improved vaccine diplomacy between the two nations during the Covid-19 pandemic.
