An Indian Mission Offers Assistance After Two Indian Students Drown While Hiking at a Scottish Tourist Spot

Tragically, two Indian students at the University of Dundee in Scotland perished in a mountaineering accident. The two males, who were in their 20s, were discovered dead in the water at the well-liked tourist destination on Wednesday night. Emergency personnel removed their corpses at the Linn of Tummel.

At Dundee University, the victims, Jitendranath Karuturi and Chanhakya Bolisetti, were enrolled in master’s programs. The occurrence happened close to the confluence of two rivers in Perthshire, near Blair of Atholl. Any questionable circumstances surrounding the deaths have been ruled out by the local authorities. The recovery of the students’ remains was verified by the Indian High Commission in London.

“On Wednesday night, two Andhra Pradesh-born Indian students perished in a sad occurrence; their remains were discovered slightly downstream. The families of both students have been contacted by the Indian Consulate General, and a consular representative has visited a student who resides in the UK. News sources cited a high commission representative as stating, “The University of Dundee has assured of all help.”

The families have been contacted by consular personnel, and Dundee University has offered support. Plans are in motion to return the remains to India after Friday’s post-mortem exams.
