At least seven persons were killed and 14 others were wounded in a truck explosion in Punjab, Pakistan

According to Dawn, which cited officials, a petrol cylinder explosion in a car caused at least seven fatalities and 14 injuries on Saturday in Pakistan’s Punjab province’s Sargodha district.

According to Pakistani news outlet Dawn, which used the Rescue 1122 Control Room as a source, seven individuals died immediately and 14 others were injured. Seven of the 14 wounded, who were transferred to the Bhalwal Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for treatment, were critically hurt. The dead were brought to the same hospital, five of which could not be recognised.

Injured victims include two 50-year-olds and two youngsters, ages four and twelve. According to Rescue 1122, the situation was first reported to them at 8:35 am (local time). At the scene of the event, nine ambulances, three fire trucks, and a rescue vehicle were sent.

According to Dawn, Rescue 1122 said in the statement that they were told about a car fire that started as a result of a gas leak from the vehicle’s cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas. According to Pakistan’s ARY News, interim Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi was aware of the event and sent his condolences to the victims’ families.

According to ARY News, he requested a thorough report from the Commissioner and RPO (Regional Police Officer) Sargodha and ordered an inquiry into the van fire event. Mohsin Naqvi gave the necessary authorities instructions to provide the wounded people the finest medical care possible.

At least five people—three of them children—were killed and seven others injured in three separate gas cylinder explosions in Pakistan earlier in June.
