Due to worries about pesticides, the Singapore Food Agency recalls Everest’s Fish Curry Masala

Everest’s Fish Curry Masala has been recalled by Singapore due to worries over the “presence of ethylene oxide pesticide,” which is said to be higher than allowed. After conducting an inquiry, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) ordered the importer, Sp Muthiah and Sons Pvt. Ltd., to remove the impacted items.

Everest Fish Curry Masala from India is being recalled, according to a statement from the Center for Food Safety in Hong Kong, because it contains more ethylene oxide than is permitted. The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has ordered the importer, Sp Muthiah & Sons Pte. Ltd., to recall the items since they were imported into Singapore. The notice said, “The recall is still in progress. The well-known spice manufacturer has not yet replied to the notification of recall.

Ethylene oxide, according to SFA, is usually used in agricultural settings to avoid microbiological contamination, however, it is not authorized for use in food. Nonetheless, it may be used to sterilize spices according to Singapore’s food standards. Although SFA reassures customers that there is no immediate danger from low levels of ethylene oxide, it emphasizes the need to minimise exposure because of the possible long-term health consequences.

Food tainted with low concentrations of ethylene oxide poses little immediate harm to human health, but prolonged exposure may have negative effects. As a result, it is best to limit your exposure to this material. It is recommended that consumers who have bought the involved items not eat them. Those who have eaten the allegedly problematic items and are worried about their health need to see a doctor. For inquiries, customers may get in touch with their place of purchase,” the guideline said.

Customers who have bought the allegedly problematic items are cautioned not to consume them, and those who voice health concerns are recommended to see a physician. In addition, the SFA advises customers to contact their place of purchase with any further questions.
