In a waterfall catastrophe in Scotland, two Indian students die away

According to the UK news outlet The Courier, two Indian students at Dundee University in Scotland died in an accident at a Scottish waterfall.

On Wednesday, April 17, the victims—Jitendranath ‘Jitu’ Karuturi, 26, and Chanhakya Bolisetti, 22,—were hiking with a companion close to Blair Atholl’s picturesque Linn of Tummel waterfall.

They reportedly fell into the ocean while attempting to snap a photo.

At Dundee University, Jitu and Chanhakya were both pursuing master’s degrees in data science and engineering.

The two Indian buddies fell into the lake while trekking with a different acquaintance.

“We received a report of two men, aged 22 and 26, in the water at the Linn of Tummel waterfall near Blair Atholl,” a Police Scotland spokesman said at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday. After local searches and the arrival of emergency personnel, the corpses of two males were found in the water. There doesn’t seem to be anything nefarious going on with these fatalities, but investigations are still underway to determine the whole story. The Daily Record said that a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Jitu used to work at the Taza Indian Buffet in Dundee and had previously studied in the US.

Vaseem Salimi, his manager, characterized him as composed, trustworthy, and diligent. “Everyone is devastated,” he added. Jitu has a lot of popularity with everyone.

In 2022, Chanhakya received his degree from JNTUH College of Engineering, Hyderabad.

A representative for Dundee University told the Courier, “This has been a tragic accident that has shocked us all, and our thoughts are with the families and friends of the students.”
