Israel Raises Attacks on Gaza, Telling Residents to “Evacuate”

Israeli authorities in Jerusalem have issued an evacuation order for the northern Gaza Strip city of Beit Lahia, telling its inhabitants to leave the region “urgently” in preparation for an impending fresh attack.
X was the subject of a Tuesday post by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokeswoman Avichay Adraee, who warned that the area was a hazardous battle zone.

According to Xinhua news agency, he said that the army is planning to “act with great force” against the Hamas installations in the region soon.

On Tuesday, the Israeli offensive stepped up its ante, with reports of heavy strikes in the center and southern districts, as well as in the northern regions—where the IDF had earlier withdrawn part of its forces—and elsewhere.

Israeli rescue services said that no casualties were reported after four rockets were launched from Gaza at the southern Israeli city of Sderot earlier on Tuesday, setting off air raid sirens.

The Israeli state-owned news channel Kan said that debris from an interceptor missile that had been fired at the rockets caused a garage to catch fire.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Health Ministry of the enclave, the Palestinian death toll in Gaza reached 34,183. The majority of the casualties were civilians.
