Matthew Lathers: Who Is He? The suspect who shot three officers in Louisiana has been identified by Kenner Police

Authorities have identified the guy who shot two Kenner Police Department members earlier today. It is said that Matthew Lathers fired shots at the police. The 31-year-old is now linked to two shootings in Louisiana, including the one where the two officers were wounded. Earlier on Tuesday, the man is said to have targeted a police officer.

Lathers is charged with seriously injuring Kenner police officers. The Kenner Police Department reports that the shooting incident that occurred today occurred close to the 700 block of Farm Avenue. At approximately 9:30 am local time, the police got early reports of an exchange of gunfire, and they hurried to the location. When they got to the house, they got into a confrontation with Lathers.

Following a Tuesday afternoon altercation with a 56-year-old man that left him critically ill, the suspect is now sought. A spokesman for the Kenner Police Department, Capt. Michael Cunningham, provided information on the specifics of the city shooting. According to Capt. Cunningham, the suspect—who remained unapprehended—then turned his attention to two more cops in what was characterized as a double shooting that happened in Kenner early on Sunday.

According to a report by WWL Louisiana, one of the two officers who were shot suffered serious injuries.

This week, he was suspected of shooting six people; three of them were Kenner Police officers. Lathers was sought in connection with an armed robbery that happened in Kenner on Tuesday. Lathers was shot while attempting the heist, killing the 56-year-old victim. According to the police, two additional individuals were shot when they unintentionally halted in front of the house where Lathers was hiding.
