Middle East Tension Soars, Pro-Iranian Forces in Iraq Are Bombed, and Israel and the US Dispute Their Role | 10 Points

Aside from the continuing Israel-Hamas battle in the Gaza Strip, the Middle East problem is only getting worse with every day that goes by. There is a possibility that the war between Israel and Iran might escalate. The situation has now become worse following a bomb strike on two Iraqi military locations on Saturday night around midnight.

Here Are Ten Updates Regarding The Crisis
A mystery jet in the province of Babil, Iraq, ‘bombed’ the Popular Mobilization Forces command center, which is the official security force, at the Kalso military camp, some 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Baghdad, according to Reuters.

According to IANS, two locations used by the Iraqi paramilitary Hashd Shaabi troops were the target of drone bombings.

Remarkably, the PMF is said to be close to Iran and began as an alliance of armed forces. Later, Iraqi authorities acknowledged it as a genuine security force.
According to two sources at a hospital in the neighboring city of Hilla, there was one PMF fighter killed and six injured in the explosion, which was reported by Reuters.

“An explosion occurred at the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces at the Kalsu military base in the Al-Mashrou district on the highway, north of Babil Governorate,” the PMF said in a statement after the incident. As soon as an investigative team got on the site, material losses and casualties were inflicted by the explosion. We shall provide you with the particulars as soon as the first inquiry is over.”

The US and Israel both denied any involvement in the strike. An Israeli official informed CNN that Israel had nothing to do with the allegations of explosions in Iraq on Friday night.

In the meantime, the US Central Command declared that no US attacks had taken place in Iraq.

This occurs just a few days after Iran attacked Israel in retaliation for the latter’s strike on Damascus, Syria, which claimed the lives of 11 individuals, including senior Iranian military figures.

In reaction to the Iranian retaliatory strike on April 13, Israel conducted an attack on the Iranian city of Isfahan on Friday, according to both US and Israeli authorities.
Iran reacted swiftly to the reported blasts close to the capital city of Isfahan by turning on its air defense system across many cities. One of Iran’s most important provinces, Isfahan, is home to many nuclear plants, including the vital uranium enrichment facility Natanz.
