‘Most Intense Day Of Fighting Since War With Hamas Began’: Israeli Forces Attack Gaza’s North, East, and South

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that Israel was battling in the most intense manner since the beginning of their assault of Gaza, supported by jets that had dropped hundreds of bombs and other missiles.

According to General Yaron Finkelman, the commander of the Israeli Defence Forces Southern Command, “we are in the most intense day since the beginning of the ground operation,” on Tuesday. Forces were engaged in combat in Khan Yunis, which is located to the south of the enclave, as well as in Jabalya, which is located to the north of Gaza City, and Shuja’iyya, which is located to the east of the city.

“We are in the heart of Jabalya, in the heart of Shuja’iyya, and now also in the heart of Khan Yunis,” he said.

A health source quoted by Reuters said that an Israeli airstrike on homes in the central Gazan neighborhood of Deir al-Balah resulted in the deaths of at least 45 individuals.

According to Eyad Al-Jabri, the director of the Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, “we have received 45 martyrs from the Israeli bombing on the houses of three families in Deir al-Balah in the past hour,” as reported by Reuters.

Israel said that its soldiers, supported by airplanes, had reached the center of Khan Younis in what seems to be the largest ground assault on Gaza since a ceasefire with Hamas broke down last week.

“We are in the most intense day since the beginning of the ground operation,” Southern Command commander General Yaron Finkelman of the Israeli military said in Jerusalem.

He stated that Israeli soldiers were also engaged in combat in Shuja’iyya, which is east of Gaza City, and in Jabalia, a large urban camp and Hamas bastion in northern Gaza next to Gaza City.

“We are in the heart of Jabalia, in the heart of Shuja’iyya, and now also in the heart of Khan Younis,” he said.

Israeli soldiers dropped more leaflets on Tuesday instructing the locals to remain inside shelters during the attack, after days of orders for them to leave the region.
