Next month, the prime minister of Nepal will go to the US and China for 10 days

On September 16, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” will go to the US and China for a ten-day official visit. The 78th UN General Assembly is set to take place in New York from September 18 to 26. Prachanda will first fly to the US to attend this event, the prime minister said on Tuesday at a meeting with editors of major newspapers.

On September 21 in New York, Prachanda will deliver a speech to the UN General Assembly, according to sources close to the prime minister. The Prachanda will go to China for four days after spending five days in the United States. It will then fly straight to Beijing.

The prime minister will participate in high-level political meetings in Beijing in addition to traveling there with the Nepalese delegation to the Asian Games that Beijing will be hosting. The sources said that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the trip and have discussions with Chinese authorities over the building of a cross-border transmission line.

On September 25, Prachanda will return to Kathmandu, capping a ten-day trip to the US and China. Prachanda took over in December of the previous year. After taking office for a third time, the 68-year-old head of the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre (CPN-MC) made his first journey outside to India in June.
