PM Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan is prepared to speak with India

proclaiming that “war is not an option” Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, said that his nation was prepared to have negotiations with India to resolve any remaining concerns.

According to PTI, Sharif made the comments while speaking at the Pakistan Minerals Summit’s opening session in Pakistan’s capital city of Islamabad.

“War is no longer an option,” he added. “We are prepared to engage with everyone, even with our neighbor, provided that the neighbor is serious to put important problems on the table.

His remarks came as relations between India and Pakistan continued to deteriorate on a variety of problems, including Islamabad’s ongoing backing for transnational terrorism and the Kashmir dispute.

Jammu & Kashmir “was, is, and will” always be a part of India, according to the government.

The comments from Prime Minister Sharif came as his coalition administration was preparing for elections on August 12, which would follow the end of the current legislative session’s five-year mandate.

To provide extra time for the next elections, it is anticipated that the lower chamber, the National Assembly, would be dissolved a few days before the conclusion of the session.

He discussed the conflicts between India and Pakistan in the past. He believed that the conflicts contributed to a rise in poverty, unemployment, and a lack of funding for public health, education, and welfare.

He said that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal served defensive rather than aggressive reasons. “Because who will survive to explain what occurred if there is a nuclear flashpoint? War is thus not an option, he continued.

Sharif emphasized that although India should be cognizant of the negative aspects of a nuclear battle, Pakistan was already fully aware of them.

Additionally, he said that unless the “abnormalities” were eliminated by resolving the outstanding concerns, relations would not return to normal.
