President Macron said on the 75th Republic Day that France will accept 30,000 Indian students by 2030

A month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Paris as the main guest of France’s National Day last year, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday that 30,000 Indian students would be invited to study in France, ahead of India’s 75th Republic Day celebrations.

The French president announced plans to welcome some 30,000 students to study in France in a post on X (previously Twitter). In 2030, there will be 30,000 Indian students in France. Although that’s a really lofty goal, I’m committed to achieving it. This is how,” Macron said.

The French president gave an explanation of how new language learning facilities are being established across the nation, complete with an international curriculum and a network of alliances françaises. He continued by saying that France will help Indian graduates get visas to enter the nation.

“To visit France is to pursue perfection. With the introduction of the “French for All, French for a Better Future” curriculum, new avenues for learning French in public schools are being opened. We are expanding the Alliances françaises network by adding more language learning facilities. We are developing foreign courses that will enable students to enroll at our institutions even if they do not know French. Finally, it said, “We would expedite the visa application procedure for any former Indian students who attended French universities.

According to Macron, the QS rankings include 35 French institutions, whereas the Times Higher Education rating lists around 15 of them.

“As of right present, 35 institutions are ranked by QS, and around 15 by Times Higher Education. France and India have a great deal to accomplish jointly, both now and in the future. We will do this in friendship, trust, and trade with you, our youth,” it said.

Following the announcement, the French embassy in India implemented many initiatives in September 2023, one of which was the introduction of a five-year Schengen visa for short stays, with the aim of drawing in more Indian students. The programs fall under the category of people-to-people relations, which is one of the three pillars of the two nations’ strategic cooperation.

The president of France, who is also the main guest for the 75th Republic Day festivities, wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India a happy Republic Day in a different post. “Indians, my dear buddy @NarendraModi, Best wishes for a happy Republic Day to you. I’m glad and honored to be with you. Come on, let’s rejoice!”

Following the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festivities to mark 75 years of the nation’s independence, President Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in the magnificent celebrations of its journey of Amrit Kaal.

The 90-minute parade saw the nation’s defense forces put on a classic exhibition with an amazing display of tremendous cavalcades. The dominant themes of the parade were the rich cultural variety of Viksit Bharat, the military superiority of “Aatmanirbhar,” and the expanding Nari Shakti.

This year’s parade, which is centred around the twin themes of “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,” is expected to feature approximately 13,000 special guests. This is an initiative aimed at giving people from diverse backgrounds a chance to participate in the festivities and support Jan Bhagidari during this national festival.
