Putin of Russia will probably visit China on his first trip after his re-election

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, said late on Tuesday that he would take China into consideration for his first international visit in his newly elected position, which he won over the weekend.

In what may be the Kremlin chief’s first foreign trip of his new presidential term, Putin is scheduled to visit China in May for discussions with Xi Jinping, according to an exclusive story from Reuters on Tuesday.

Putin was requested to select Beijing for the trip by Gennady Zyuganov, the head of the Communist Party, at a meeting with parliamentary groups on Tuesday, according to a report by Russia’s official news agency, TASS.

“I hope you’ll go to the east instead of the west on your first visit. Zyuganov was quoted by TASS as adding, “Comrade (Chinese President) Xi Jinping is waiting for you to visit; he loves our country very much.”
Putin pledged to take the trip into account.

Putin grinned and replied, “I will definitely, without any jokes, take into account what you just said,” according to TASS.

As Putin easily won the weekend elections, Western nations queued up on Monday to denounce his win as unfair and undemocratic. Meanwhile, China and North Korea congratulated the seasoned Russian leader on extending his authority for another six years.
