Sita Dahal, wife of Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has died

The first lady of Nepal and spouse of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Sita Dahal, passed away on Wednesday. After feeling sick earlier, she was sent to Norvic Hospital. She had progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), an uncommon neurological condition, according to hospital officials.

At eight in the morning, Sita Dahal had a heart arrest, and despite CPR, the doctor was unable to save her. At 8:33 am, the officials pronounced her deceased.

She also had Parkinson’s disease and hypertension. Her last rituals will be conducted at Pashupatinath Temple today, according to a report from Nepali news site OnlineKhabar.

A uncommon brain condition called progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) affects movement, balance, and eye movement. When the brain’s nerve cells that regulate thought and movement are damaged, PSP results.

Following the passing of the Nepalese First Lady, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent his sympathies. “Please accept my heartfelt sympathies… and I hope the soul of the deceased finds everlasting rest,” Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet.

Ram Madhav, a senior member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), tweeted his condolences to the prime minister of Nepal. “Our sincere condolences to PM Nepal HE Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on the passing of his wife Sita Dahal. A tweet from Ram Madhav said, “Aum Shanti.”

When Dahal’s Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) joined legislative politics after the insurgency ended, Sita once worked as an advisor to the party. The terrible death of Comrade Sita Dahal, the party stated in a statement, “shocks our entire party.” The statement said, “During the turbulent years of the civil war, (she) performed a coordinating role as the parent of the whole party, to address issues, crises, and conflicts inside the party.

According to the news agency AFP, the couple had four children, two of whom have already passed away.
