Students in New York Admit They Don’t Know What They’re Protesting

Two anti-Israel demonstrators at New York University are shown in an internet video straining to articulate the rationale for their actions. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani shared a video of a young lady at an NYU protest site stuttering when asked “why” she was there on X.

“I believe the primary objective is just expressing our solidarity with Palestine and demanding that NYU cease…She said, “To be honest, I don’t know everything NYU is doing.

In response to the question of if there was “something NYU is doing,” the student said, “I really don’t know; I’m pretty sure they are.”

She turned to face her companion and said, “Do you know what NYU is doing?” In response, the mask-wearing companion said, “About what?” Then the first lady said, “What about Israel? Why are we demonstrating in particular here at NYU?” With that, the companion said, “I wish I was more educated.”

The first student claimed to be from Columbia and stated, “We went down because they thought NYU needed our help. People were claiming it was becoming hazardous, and I’ve heard there are a lot of police officers.”

“The young woman in this video is the perfect example of the modern American Left and their indoctrination of young people,” said former mayor Rudy Giuliani in response to the video. According to Fox News, “They are tools to something much more sinister and don’t know what they’re doing.” He stated, “She’s just one of many examples of how our education system here in America is deteriorating.”

A student from Fordham University is shown in the film participating in a demonstration; she went to Columbia and NYU to assist other protestors. On Monday, about 150 demonstrators at NYU were taken into custody. On Wednesday, nevertheless, demonstrations at NYU persisted after a walkout the previous day.

Encampments are being set up by students at US campuses in opposition to the US government’s backing of Israel during the Gaza War. Students are not only demanding an end to US military funding for Israel but also that universities divest from firms that profit from the war in addition to asking for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. In addition, they want compensation for instructors and students who were dismissed or reprimanded for participating in anti-Israel demonstrations.
