Tokyo Airport Plane Burning Up After Colliding With Another Jet

Tokyo, Japan: On Tuesday, television footage showed a Japan Airlines aircraft on fire on the runway at Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
The jet was shown traveling quickly down the runway in the photos posted by broadcaster NHK before an explosion of orange flames erupted from below it.

Television sources said that the Airbus and a coastguard aircraft had collided, however the exact reason of the event was not immediately apparent.

The number of passengers on board was likewise unknown, although reports indicated that they were being hurried off.

Comment from officials was not immediately available.

The television picture showed the plane’s nose on the ground with rescue personnel spraying it and flames shooting out of the windows.

The runway was littered with smoldering trash as well.
