US President Joe Biden maintains his “sacred commitment” to NATO, saying that “Trump looks at it as burden.”

President Joe Biden blasted Donald Trump for his recent words urging Russia to target specific members of the long-standing military alliance, calling them “dangerous” and describing NATO as a “sacred commitment” for the United States.

The US president said that the comments made by his probable rival in the next presidential election highlighted how urgent it is to approve a USD 95 billion foreign assistance package for US allies. Although the law just cleared the Senate, it will encounter political resistance in the House. Speaking on Tuesday at the White House, Biden said that passing the package would be “playing into Putin’s hands.”

“America’s word has meaning when it is said. We honor our commitments when we make them. Additionally, NATO is a solemn pledge. Biden said, “Donald Trump views this as a burden. He does not see NATO as the organization that defends the United States and the rest of the globe. He notices a ruse for safety. He also said, “He doesn’t realize that the core tenets of NATO are national sovereignty, freedom, and security.

During the weekend, Trump threatened to urge Russian President Vladimir Putin to invade those countries unless his NATO partners increased their defense budget. He made this threat while speaking at a rally in South Carolina. “You failed to make a payment? Are you a miscreant? I wouldn’t shield you, no. To be more precise, I would say let them do whatever the heck they want. You must make payment. You have to pay your expenses,” Trump said. Leading candidate for the Republican Party candidacy, Donald Trump, has demanded that countries of NATO contribute two percent of their GDP to defense.

BIDEN’S REACTION
Biden said, “Because principles never matter to Trump.” Every aspect of life is transactional. He is unaware of the fact that the holy vow we made serves us as well. In fact, I would want to remind Trump and everyone else who is considering leaving NATO that Article 5 has only ever been used once, and that was to support the United States during the 9/11 attacks. “We must always remember it. You know, our enemies have been trying to break apart the alliance for a long time,” he said.

The mutual defense provision in Article 5 of NATO commits all allies to supporting any member who is attacked. The US used the article after the September 11, 2001 attacks, and it was the only time it was ever cited. “The biggest hope of all those who wish America harm is for NATO to fall apart,” said Biden. And you can be certain that when they heard Donald Trump speak, they all applauded. I am aware of this. I refuse to give up. There isn’t another president that I can think of leaving. If Putin strikes a NATO partner, the US will defend every square inch of NATO territory as long as I am president.

The president of the United States called such comments deplorable and “un-American.” “The world has received a dangerous and startlingly un-American signal from the former president, Donald Trump. A few days ago, Trump invited Putin to attack several NATO nations, who are our friends. Biden said that he would urge Russia to, quote, “do whatever the hell they want” if an ally didn’t provide enough funds for defense.

“Is it possible for a previous US president to say that? It was heard by everyone on the planet. Worst of all, he really means it. There has never been a president in our history who submitted to a Russian autocrat. I will put things as plainly as I can. I never will. It’s stupid, shameful, dangerous, and un-American, for heaven’s sake, added Biden. Trump’s opponent for the Republican presidential nomination, Nikki Haley, also criticized the outgoing president for his remarks.

NIKKI LEAPS INTOUCH
“Never support a thug who murders his opponents. Never support someone who has invaded a nation, such as Putin, and caused the deaths or injuries of half a million people. Refuse to side with someone who keeps lying. Every day, I dealt with Russia. In an interview with CBS on Sunday, she said, “Siding with Russia is the last thing we ever want to do.” Though there are methods to do that without just sitting there and urging Russia to “have your way with these countries,” we do want our NATO members to pay their share. Look, Russia has never attacked a nation that is a member of NATO. Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia have all been invaded. NATO has really frightened them. We can avert conflict thanks to NATO,” Haley had said.

According to White House Spokesman Andrew Bates, Biden has strengthened US relations and mended friendships because he understands that the first duty of any commander in chief is to protect the security of the people and uphold the principles that bind them together. He declared: “NATO is now the biggest and most important organization it has ever been, thanks to President Biden’s seasoned leadership.” It is disgusting and insane to support the invasions of our closest friends by homicidal regimes; doing so puts our domestic economy, international stability, and American national security in jeopardy. Bates said, “President Biden will continue to bolster American leadership and stand up for our national security interests — not against them— instead of calling for wars and encouraging deranged chaos.”
