Mizoram Election: Voting ends at 4 PM, with re-polling starting at 1 Center

According to authorities, calm re-polling has begun at the Muallungthu voting center in the Aizawl South-III constituency of Mizoram on Friday. Repolling is said to have started at 7 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m.

Who are the contenders?
There are four contenders running in the Aizawl South-III seat.

Baryl Vanneihsangi, a rookie, was nominated by the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), whereas Lalnunmawia, the incumbent MLA, was fielded by the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF).

Zaichhawna Hlawndo, an independent from the Zoramthar faction, is running against Congress’s Rosiamngheta.

Tuesday’s polling for the 40-member Mizoram parliament saw 80.43 percent of voters show out.

On December 3, there will be a vote count.
