Stalin calls the delimitation of LS seats a danger to TN

CM MK Stalin referred to the planned parliamentary constituency delimitation by the BJP administration as “a knife hanging over the state’s head” and claimed it poses a risk to the political representation of the state. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was planning to lessen the state’s power by cutting the number of MP seats.

Stalin warned the public about the “impending threat” in a social media post on X, saying, “If we do not act now, there will be no dawn for Tamil Nadu.”

Stalin went on to say that if the BJP came back to power, there would be dire repercussions and that Tamil Nadu would suffer greatly as a result of their plan to expand Lok Sabha seats via delimitation. He said that the process of delimitation will unjustly penalize states like as Tamil Nadu, which have successfully controlled population increase, while rewarding others that have not.

Stalin said that Modi had not stated that he would not lessen the state’s influence in the Lok Sabha, not even for the sake of empty words. “Let us disregard the open attempts by the BJP and its covert ally AIADMK to demolish Tamil Nadu,” he said.

Stalin had earlier in the day campaigned at Kolathur and ICF areas for DMK candidates for North Chennai, Kalanidhi Veerasamy, and Central Chennai, Dayanidhi Maran. Throughout the campaign, he paused to kick a ball with and observe students playing football at a playground in the Kolathur assembly constituency.
