8.11 lakh people give Rs 2.56 crore at three temples in Panchkula during Navratri

The nine-day Navratri festival ended today, with over 8.11 lakh devotees paying their respects at three temples in Panchkula: Mata Mansa Devi Temple, Kali Mata Temple, and Chandi Mata Temple.

Huge crowds attended the event, particularly on Ashtami, the eighth day, when over 1.50 lakh devotees visited the temples. In addition to the gold and silver donations at the three temples over the nine-day festival, the devotees contributed a total of more than Rs 2.56 crore.

According to representatives of the Panchkula government, 1.40 lakh people attended the three temples on the last day of the celebration and gave Rs 32.8 lakh in donations. The followers presented 6.8 grams of gold and 1271.12 grams of silver on the last day, according to the authorities.

According to official statistics, the overall amount of contributions made to the temples during Navratras this year was only marginally more than that of the previous year, when a total of Rs 2.59 crore was presented.

The source said that no foreign monetary contributions were made to the temples this time around.
