Celebrating the year of millets at a tree lighting ceremony

On December 9, go to ITC Grand Central in Mumbai to see the tree lighting ceremony. This year’s eco-friendly Christmas tree is composed of glass vases packed with different millets, including kuttu, ragi, jowar, barnyard, and kangni, making for an eye-catching and long-lasting centerpiece. Even though a wide range of people, including workers, visitors, and socialites, will be present for the event, you may still visit the hotel in the days that follow to admire the 11.5-foot tall. Choir performances will accompany the lighting ceremony.

Executive Chef Paul Noronha of the ITC Grand Central Mumbai is looking forward to serving a delicious buffet of holiday fare specially prepared for the occasion. “This annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring a handcrafted millet tree, embodies our commitment to responsible luxury,” says hotel general manager Kunal Pahwa. Christmas songs accompany this in-house production that took 168 hours to complete, symbolizing the joyous occasion and bringing optimism for a safer and happier year to come.”
