Day 1 at Ayodhya Ram Temple Draws 1.5 Lakh Devotees: What Are the Dos and Don’ts for Darshan?

Hundreds of worshippers flocked to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday morning to take a glimpse of Lord Ram Lalla during the Pran Prathistha event, which attracted a sizable audience.

According to Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal, more than 1.5 lakh pilgrims visited the temple on the first day, so much so that the Ayodhya administration had to postpone the Darshan till 2 pm in order to manage the throng.

Darshan times and advice for devotees were released by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to prevent confusion. The idol of Ram Lalla will be accessible to devotees from 7 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Darshan will observe daily temple closures from 1 to 3 p.m.

Fruits and milk may be presented to the Lord Ram idol in accordance with the rules established by the Trust.

Ram Lalla’s outfit changes every week: on Monday, it’s white; on Tuesday, it’s red; on Wednesday, it’s green; on Thursday, it’s yellow; on Friday, it’s light yellow; on Saturday, it’s blue; and on Sunday, it’s pink. They will be dressed in yellow on important days.

Notably, the Darshan is still available every day at the temple.

FIRST DAY SCENE
At three in the morning on Tuesday, people began arriving from Ayodhya and other areas including Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Bahraich, Unnao, and Gorakhpur in hopes of seeing Ram Lalla. Rajesh Pandey, a local who traveled to Ayodhya to see the temple, said that “a chaotic situation prevailed as the temple gates opened at around 7 am.”

On Tuesday morning, barricading was put in place to control the gathering.

A specialized method for managing crowds was implemented. To prevent any disturbance at the Ram Temple, we have set up a separate holding area and are releasing the throng gradually,” Ayodhya divisional commissioner Gaurav Dayal said.

Newly deployed UP particular Forces and other security officers have been given particular orders to handle the mob, according to Inspector General of Police (IG) Ayodhya Praveen Kumar. According to Kumar, who spoke to News18, “the security personnel have been instructed to maintain strict crowd control and not to be harsh with the devotees.”
